People who influence me

Dai, Su mei

Draft#3

The most influential person in my life is my father. No matter the time flies, he is still the person I am familiar with. Although time will make him get older, time can not destroy his vitality. Although he is not the richest person in the world, he is the greatest father in my life. Although I fell down a lot in my life, he always influenced me to get up. He has influenced me to realize the good and high education which will make me to reach the successful life in my future rather than the material life. He also influenced me to realize that no matter how hard the life is, everybody has to face and accept the life’s test and obstacles.

In my memories, I was not a smart and independent person. I always thought why my family was different from the others’ which were rich, and why my father was different from the others’ who were educated. I didn’t like to stay at home because I was not satisfied with my family and I was not proud of my father.

I always complained of my fate, why God treated me unfairly in the world. I hated this kind of life because my mind was willful and na´ve. I had never thought about my father’s situations and feelings. I had never thought who raised me. I always disappointed my father a lot because I always didn’t go to school. The teachers in my classes always called my father and complained of me. I always got the bad grades in each class and cut the classes a lot. One day, after my father came home from work, he looked so tired and lost lots of energy. His face showed he was so disappointed and upset. I found that he looked older and skinnier. He sat down and asked me softly why I always didn’t go to school. But I pretended that I didn’t hear what he said. Actually, he got so angry, but he didn’t yell at me. He just said “wonderful life is dependent on our own hands, as long as we are not afraid to get through the life’s test and obstacles, the success will always wait for us in front of our lives.” I knew the meaning of what he said, but I avoided it. I was always getting on my unrealistic way.

One day, my life’s perception changed and I was influenced by my father who was really worthwhile for me to respect. I remember that day, I stood by the window of the restaurant which is my father worked. My father was the chef’s assistant in the restaurant. His job was so hard and he got less money. But he didn’t change his job which was the only way to support our family. I could see and hear clearly what happened in the restaurant. The crazy chef complained of and yelled at my father due to my father working slowly because of old age and being uneducated. But my father didn’t say a word and he was still working there. After that moment, I felt ashamed of myself because I knew what was wrong with me.

I ran to the beach and sat down on the silent beach watching the silent sea. I thought of my father who was still working in the bad situation and he was always complained by the unfair reasons of the crazy chef. How bad the feelings he just got. As his daughter, I also disappointed him a lot and I could not help him. I really felt guilty and bad. In my father’s mind, he actually knew that he was an uneducated person and he had to be responsible for his family. That’s the only way he could choose. That’s why it was so hard for him to change his job even though he really hated to work as the chef’s assistant. But he didn’t give up. Instead he paid his effort and struggle in order to support his family. As his daughter, I should stand by his side to support him and I should not disappointed him a lot. In my father’s mind, he didn’t want me to go back to his same way. He wanted me to get a good and high education which would make me have a good life. From that time, I understood the situations and feelings of my father who was really the greatest father in my life.

Although, my father is not the richest person in the world, he is the greatest father in my life. He has influenced me to realize that no matter how hard the life is, we have to face and accept the life’s test and obstacles. As long as we are not afraid to get through life’s test and obstacles, our lives will be successful and meaningful. He also has influenced me that good and high education will make my life wonderful and successful rather than the material life. I am proud of my father who has influenced my life to be meaningful. He is the most influential person in my life.
